I’ve had my Paramount Pistachio for a few weeks now, and the more time I spend with it, the more impressed I am by how beautifully the overall Art Deco design comes together.
What has surprised me most is the dial. The layered textures, typography, and finishing simply don’t come through in the online photos. In person, the dial has far more depth and character than I expected.
I’m also impressed by how seamlessly the recessed crown integrates into the case. It’s a subtle design detail that contributes to the watch’s clean, elegant profile.
For me, it’s a wonderfully versatile watch. It’s playful enough for a casual summer afternoon, yet refined enough to wear out for an evening in Santa Fe. It can feel whimsical one day and elegant the next.
There are, however, two areas where I think the watch could be improved.
First, because the crown is so well integrated into the case, I find it somewhat difficult to wind. The movement also feels quite stiff when winding, making it difficult to achieve a full wind. As a result, I’m currently seeing less than 24 hours of power reserve. With the Sellita SW210, I would expect something closer to the advertised 42 hours. This may simply be an issue with my particular watch, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
My second criticism is the supplied strap. The faded burgundy-pink suede (which appears somewhat different from the website photos) doesn’t complement the red hands as well as I had hoped, and, in my opinion, competes with the overall design.
I replaced it with a Badalassi Cognac leather strap, and it completely transformed the watch. The warmer leather gives the watch more maturity, warmth, and confidence. Instead of saying, “Look at my green dial,” it now says, “I’m an Art Deco watch that happens to have a beautiful pistachio dial.”
Overall, I’m genuinely happy with the Paramount Pistachio. It’s one of those rare watches that becomes more interesting the longer you own it, and I look forward to wearing it for many years.
What a great racing-themed watch! It has classic/retro lines with modern styling twists. I have only had the watch a week but already have had multiple compliments and inquiries about it. I like this watch so much that I will be purchasing another watch in a different style.
Absolutely stunning and amazing quality. Also a real conversation starter - I instantly got compliments the first time I wore it.
For me, this is the best 70's retro looking watch out there. I absolutely love everything about this watch, from the finishing, build quality & bracelet. The aesthetics of the watch leaves you in no doubt about what era this watch hails from. The watch "pops" with it's unique, legible, uncluttered orange dial. Love it.
My husband loves it! His comment is he wishes the hands had more lume so he could see them in the dark.
This is my second Ferro & Company timepiece, the Time Master 70 Monochrome and I absolutely love it. The versatility of this watch is what really stands out. Whether you're dressed casually or in a suit, it looks equally impression. The craftsmanship, clean design, and attention to detail make it a pleasure to wear. Another fantastic addition to my collection!
This is a stunning looking timepiece that I'm happy to add to my collection. Although a squarish watch with a distinct 70's vibe may not be for everyone, this really has to be seen in person to be appreciated.
It's dial is clear and legible, it's hands are different, and its overall build quality seems to be very good.
Using a Miyota 9xxx movement makes it reliable and I can see myself wearing this on a regular basis just because it looks very different to almost eveything I have (except my Brew Metric).
A truly beautiful watch that takes me back to the 70s, and for which I receive nothing but compliments! I am very happy with it!
The Time Master 70 blue/orange is a stunning piece. It has a certain heft and wears well on my wrist. The clasp is strong and that adjustability allows for a “just right” fit. My only suggestion to this great brand is to improve their communication. The watch was delayed for good reasons but I would have hoped for an email letting me know about this around the original expected ship date. It was definitely worth the wait, though.
The Time Master 70 Blue / Orange is a stunning watch by every measure!
I'm so impressed with the design, manufacturing quality, and the substantial feel of the watch with its terrific bracelet.
Of many favorite features, the orange rear display crystal is near to the best.
This is my second Ferro & Company watch, following on my fantastic Distinct 3 Avanti and will be checking for new releases often!
This was my first microbrand watch purchase (vs. entry to mid-tier Swiss brands like Hamilton or Longines), so when I preordered this watch and its delivery was unexpectedly delayed, I considered cancelling the order and moving on.
I'm glad I stuck out the wait, however, because it finally arrived yesterday and my first impression was, "Huh.. This *is* nice."
My wife took the attached photos for me right out of the box with plastic wrap still on the watch, so you unfortunately can't clearly see the nice polish of the bezel around the dial (it really stands out against the brushed body). The dial's blue ring is visually nicer in person than I expected as well, which is a bonus.
The bracelet is sharp as well, IMO. It is solid (no loose links, etc.), and using the micro-adjust feature was a piece of cake to use. (Note: I still have to remove a link from it for my ~7.25"-7.5" wrist to wear it properly. Any good watch repair shop can do this for only a few bucks if you can't do it yourself.)
I especially love the dial's multi-color lume (see the black light and "after black light" pics).
My wife - who is not a watch fan and grumbles at any watch purchase - even said it was now her favorite.
In short, this Time Master 70 punches above its weight. It's a keeper.
Beautiful color tones. Exceptional design choices as to the balancing of colors and textures. It's just a clean but interesting looking watch. High quality finishes. It's heavier for the size than I expected. I haven't had a chance to resize the band yet so I don't know what it will feel like ultimately. That's the main reason it loses a star for me. For the money I paid, I feel I should have received a tool to adjust the bracelet. Now I have to find a place, get it sized, and pay for that. I received it the day I was traveling to a conference and was disappointed I couldn't simply take it and wear it. This really is a hassle. I hope it doesn't just end up in the drawer. I hope it's as beautiful on, as it is held in my hand.
This is my second purchase with this company and I couldn’t be happier with this one. It’s a simple but very elegant / classy design, and very comfortable on the wrist.
You won’t be disappointed.
A secondary color inspiration: pairing Ferro's 22mm orange racing leather strap with the Distinct 3 in British Green. I wanted to capture the Distinct 3 orange of the bold 6 marker and pointer tip.
The leather is supple right out of the box — no stiff, cardboard-y break-in period here. Very sporty with just enough richness to feel premium without screaming for attention, like a vintage Land Rover in a national park. The stitching is clean, the taper feels natural on the wrist. At 22mm it fits the Distinct 3's lugs like it was made for it — because, well, it basically was. The pins feature quick release spring bars which allowed the swap out to take only minutes.
Customer service was beyond my expectation: I mistakenly ordered a 20mm strap and Rob took the time to contact me to confirm that the strap was intended to be used with the Distinct 3, and he corrected my order to the 22mm strap.
An excellent experience and product!
I was initially reluctant to pay the near $500 for one but now that I own one I have no regrets! It’s beautiful and unique with the one hand operation. The crown is oversized but in a good way.
Absolutely gorgeous watch. Stunning in detail. Only oddity: the second hand stops after an hour or do, supposedly to save on the battery but of the 1,000 watches I own, it’s the only one to do that. Also, the night version is near useless. It lights up but it’s impossible to tell the time. That aside, it’s beautiful. I much prefer the orange leather strap to the standard metal version.
Hi there, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We're glad you find the watch beautiful, but we're sorry for the issues with the second hand and the night version. This is how all the VK64 movements are made, it's not a deffect. Perhaps the other watches that you have are not with VK64.
Thanks in advance for choosing us and enjoy your new watch.
Such a good looking watch (the colour combination is great), the 12 hour one hand watch is easy to read and don’t forget the quality of the strap. Everything combines a striking watch that is really comfortable to wear.
I loved the first one enough to buy a 2nd if that tell you anything. Great watches, very unique and gets lots of compliments. Both were shipped quickly with excellent communication. For the money its a great timepiece.
My wife absolutely loves this watch, and i love that i was able to add a watch to the collection from a local company
Recently switched back from apple watch and was looking for high quality, but also stylish - nailed both with my race master in red. Exactly what I was hoping for.
Great service and wonderful quality on the watch strap, I’m very satisfied. Thank you!
I caught my eye online right away, and did not disappoint in person. Clean lines, a bright color and just the right size to get noticed. Yet, pharaoh shows its true colors!
